About Us Intrepid Homes (intrepidhomes.com) is a newly formed startup based in Boston, MA. We are rethinking the skilled trades, an industry that has barely changed in the last 100 years. Hiring contractors to do even simple residential projects is a frustrating process of trial and error. A primary cause of this is the shortage of skilled tradespeople in the U.S. — the result of long-term trends that have pushed younger workers away from blue collar jobs. About The Program Our apprenticeship is a 12-week entry level program targeted at people looking to start their career in a skilled trade. Learn via a combination of classroom and workshop instruction as well as riding along with seasoned pros on real jobs. The program is both full time and paid, and open to those with entry-level experience. Our curriculum covers the basics of carpentry, painting, plumbing and electrical -- we aim for this early exposure to help you find your passion and set up your future career as an Intrepid Homes Pro. About You -Natural curiosity to tinker with, fix, and build things -Excited to begin a career outside an office setting -Vocational training or experience in maintenance or construction is a plus -Able to commute to our workshop in Framingham, MA What You’ll Learn -Framing, trim and finish work -Stock and custom cabinet and shelving installation -Door and window repair and installation -Drywall installation, repair, and painting -Hanging TVs, mirrors, curtains, blinds -Faucet, sink and toilet repair and installation -Thermostats and smart home device installation -Light fixture and outlet replacement -Use of our internally developed remote triage and assisted reality tools Please apply here:
