Auto Shop Helper Job Duties: • Assist in performing quality repairs to vehicles and actively participate in the work-flow of the shop by knowing the status of assigned vehicles and assisting in problem solving to keep all vehicles on schedule for on-time delivery • Receive, label, examine, return, and store vehicle parts • Assist body technicians in examination of vehicles and work closely with estimator to plan necessary repair processes • Disassemble and reassemble vehicles (removing and re-installing vehicle parts) • Assist body technicians with body work/panel repair; files, grinds, and sands repaired panels using power tools and hand tools • Work and communicate well with others on vehicle repair status Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit and use hands to manipulate, handle or feel objects, tools, controls and office equipment. The employee is required to read and interpret work orders and follow processes and procedures, and occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel or crouch, and may be required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be in an open shop environment. Ideal candidate must be able to work in team-oriented, fast-paced conditions. Punctuality and reliability is extremely important!
