Description
As temperatures rise, please keep the paws of your four-legged friends in mind. Hot days are not the time to take your dogs for a walk on pavement or asphalt. Hot surface temperatures can irritate tender paws and even cause blisters and sores from burns
Some tips to keep paws safe: 1) wait until late evening for walks when the sun is not warming surfaces directly; 2) place your hand on the surface you plan to walk on. If you cannot comfortably hold it there for 30 seconds, it is too hot for bare paws; 3) if you must walk your pup during the day, stick to grassy paths. Please remember our pets cannot tell us when they are uncomfortable. Even if they don't seem to mind walking on the hot surface, it still may cause harm to their paws.
