GROUNDS-PERSON (and More throughout Southeast!) Duties include hauling wood and brush from the tree to the truck, using various hand and power tools, assisting tree climbers, and cleaning the job site. Prior experience working in the tree industry or a related field is not required. **Given the dangerous nature of the work required, employees must be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time** Essential Functions Gathers brush and feeds brush into wood chipper. Applies chemical herbicide to right-of-way, following brush removal. Uses a chainsaw to cut brush, logs and stumps of larger trees. Services truck, chipper, and equipment, and maintains them in a neat, clean, and specified mechanical state. Works on unlevel ground. Works in all temperatures and weather and will be exposed to nature. Performs other related work, as assigned by supervisors. Minimum Requirements Must be able to wear necessary PPE. Must be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work assignments. Must be able to lift, move and maneuver heavy weights of 10 pounds frequently, and weights of up to 50 pounds infrequently. Must be able to operate and service all required tools and equipment. Must be able to pass pre-employment drug test. Must be able to pass criminal background check.
