Description

I've got some newly hatched Phidippus audax slings, and would be happy to pass some along to anyone local who is interested in the jumping spider hobby. It won't be right away because the little ones are still in the nest, but feel free to message me and I'll be in contact when they're ready to go. $3 each, to help ensure the safety of the spiders. Any that don't go will be safe with me so they don't absolutely need to go. Just looking to share the spider love, with anyone who wants! P. audax is a native species of jumping spider in this area. Jumping spiders make rewarding and interesting little pets. Good as an education thing for kids, and make wonderful office desk friends too. They don't need much space or care, but will treat you to endless fun watching their antics and hunts. They are active hunting spiders and not web builders, and so exhibit an intense curiosity about their surroundings and a willingness to explore. They are gaining interest online for their fuzzy and large-eyed appearance and for being essentially like a tiny cat, relative to most spiders. They will even chase tiny cat toys, and love to stare at movement on screens and track what their humans are up to. And while they should be handled with care for the safety of the small spider, they are very gentle and non-aggressive toward humans. These spiders will eat flightless fruit flies for the first part of their lives, and then can be transitioned to a variety of prey items as they get older, depending on your preference. They are most typically given meal worms, dubias, house flies, or small crickets. They will live to be around a year and a half old. They're pretty small, but still large enough to see clearly while they explore their enclosure. Feel free to message with any questions or interest in the slings. And if you'd like to give the jumping spider hobby a try, than welcome!
