Embroidery Machine Operator (ID/DD population) Freeport – Full Time $17/hour - 35/hours week AHRC Nassau provides support to over 2,200 people throughout Nassau County. Our organization partners with a family of organizations including Brookville Center for Children’s Services, Citizens Options Unlimited and Advantage Care Health Centers. We have a unique opportunity for an Embroidery Machine Operator to work with AHRC’s Supported Employment program which provides job development, placement services and ongoing support for people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities to maintain employment. In this role, you will: • Operate and maintain embroidery/silk screen machines to create designated garments and pieces. • Load and ready fabric, threads, needles and goods. • Follow style, color and design guidelines to create standard products. • Maintain equipment on a regular basis, and make recommendations for repair. • Cross train other warehouse staff to be proficient on use/maintenance of equipment. • Multi-task and work on other warehouse projects, when resources require. • Operate a 6-12 passenger and/or cargo vehicle and assist with transport routes as needed We require: • HS Diploma or equivalent required. • A valid, qualified NYS Driver’s License throughout employment. • Knowledge of embroidery and silk screening; warehouse packaging and shipping experience a plus. • Knowledge of embroidery machine operations including systems (WILCOM, COREL, etc.) a plus. • Ability to follow verbal written directions and perform assigned related tasks with minimal supervision. • The ability to complete basic math functions, such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing.
