Responsibilities:
• Be able to perform all of the essential functions of the craft workers under his/her supervision.
• Perform task planning to safely and efficiently carry out all aspects of work assigned.
• Train/teach safety practices, policies, and procedures related to employee’s assigned tasks.
• Provide on-the-job training to individuals under his/her supervision. Ensure industrial carpenters are qualified to perform their work. REMOVE This
• Gain complete understanding of scope of work and related parts of the project.
• Develop thorough understanding of project plans, specifications, and schedules as related to work assigned.
• Conduct toolbox meetings and communicate safety concerns, work scope, plans, and schedules.
• Understand and read plans and specifications
• Have some experience with underground piping (flange and MJ) as well as mechanical equipment installation
• Have some understanding of basic surveying and use of auto levels and rotating lasers
• Utilize a crew of 4-5 guys
• Fill out safety paperwork and daily reports
• Work outside in the heat for 8-10 hours a day.
• Develop weekly work plans and monitor production.
• Perform other job-specific duties and have basic understanding of scheduling, material control, and productivity management systems.
Requirements:
• High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate) Preferred
• Comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to understand information, ideas, direction and be able to perform task or project discussed.
• Ability to ask questions to ensure you understand information given.
