Description
Job Responsibilities:
Maintains fleet equipment operation by completing inspections and preventive maintenance requirements; correcting vehicle deficiencies; making adjustments and alignments; keeping records.
Fleet Technician/Mechanic Job Duties:
*Determines vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identifying worn and damaged parts.
*Keeps equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules.
*Maintains vehicle appearance by cleaning, washing, and painting.
*Maintains vehicle records by annotating services and repairs.
*Maintain and clean garage equipment and tools to ensure they are kept in a safe and usable condition at all times
*Verifies vehicle performance by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems.
*Contains costs by using warranty; evaluating service and parts options.
*Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipts.
*Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical and regulation publications.
*Enhances maintenance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Additional Requirements:
*Capable of lifting 50 – 75 lbs.
*Maintain professional attitude and appearance
*Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
*Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
*Work occasional overtime and Saturdays
*Reliable transportation
*Regular shop hours will be 8:30 am to 5:30 pm unless otherwise stated by supervisor.
