Sweet senior dogs at Wake County Animal Shelter

I'm a volunteer dog walker at the Wake County Animal Shelter and wanted to post about some of the wonderful senior dogs that are currently there waiting for a family to take them home. This post highlights Tank and Monki who are very special and quickly became shelter favorites. Both of these dogs have been very well mannered and easy to care for at the shelter. They adore people and have waited patiently for weeks for a family to adopt them. Despite being in a cement kennel by themselves 24 hours a day, these sweet boys still remain hopeful and happy. They still greet you and wag their tail when you enter their kennel. They love going on walks with the volunteers and are counting the days until they go home. The volunteers took awesome pics of me so that you could see what a truly great dog I am. My previous owner said I am playful and love toys and house trained. Do you enjoy watching movies? How about a buddy to enjoy the movie with you? The volunteers say I am a calm walker. I will walk by your side and we can enjoy the beautiful NC trails together. I would prefer to be an only dog. I can then give you all my attention! I look forward to meeting you so that we can begin our many memories together! I love people and I am very calm. The volunteers have said I am the perfect dog and whoever takes me home will be a lucky owner! I even like other dogs! How great is that! I walk great on a leash and would love to walk beautiful trails with you! Since I am calm I could be perfect as your home office buddy! I love to watch movies! I always keep my cage clean. I have learned a lot in 8 years!
