Job Description: Porter Department: Guest Services Reports to: Housekeeping Manager FSLA Status: Non-Exempt Wages & Benefits: Start at $16.50 per hour, hiring both Full-Time and Part-Time positions (please indicate your preference when applying). FULL BENEFITS for full-time employees includes medical, dental, and PTO; partial benefits available to part-time employees. Plus a PEAK SEASON BONUS! Position Summary: The Porter performs a variety of custodial and inventory management functions to maintain cleanliness, care, use of and access to the facilities in accordance with The Forts’ high standards of quality. The Porter receives written and verbal instruction from the Porter Supervisor and/or the Housekeeping Manager regarding tasks that need attention. This person must be able to juggle multiple tasks at a time, be flexible with their schedule and have a strong ability to work independently and quickly while performing physically demanding jobs. Primary Responsibilities • Keep areas properly supplied with toilet paper, paper towels, soap and other items • Perform high and low dusting • Clean furniture and metal fixtures • Sweep, mop and/or vacuum floors and rugs; vacuum and extract carpets • Empty trash and recycle containers • Use chemicals, supplies and equipment in accord with written and verbal instructions • Wash interior and exterior windows • Secure interior doors upon completion of cleaning assignments • Observe and report suspicious activity • Maintain inventory of consumables such as chemicals and paper products and submit supply orders to the manager in a timely manner to avoid running out of stock • Step in for housekeeping, maintenance and laundry staff as needed • Stock linen and supply closets • Collect public laundry facility money, submit to the front desk for deposit • Remove used bedding and empty trash upon guest checkout • Attend staff meetings as needed • Assist with event sets and venue servicing • Other duties as assigned by supervisor or other management Willing to train!
