Living with a chronic condition or caring for someone with a chronic condition?   Are you or a loved one living with a Chronic Condition? Clackamas County Social Services is offering a free, introductory session including a six week workshop series by Zoom platform on how to feel your best when living with a chronic condition. Caregivers and individuals welcome! The workshop series will offer you tools to manage your own condition or possibly provide support to a loved one. Facilitators do not give advice, rather we share tools and techniques to help you and others find hope and useful options for feeling better while living with your condition. Workshops occur on Wednesdays, once a week for seven weeks starting August 25th. The first classes (8/25) is from 1 - 2 pm and the other 6 classes will be held from1pm - 3:30 pm. Our final session will be October 6, 2021. Attendees can discover self-management choices to help fight fatigue, problem solve, make decisions, develop action plans, eat wisely and manage stress, as well as ways to improve communication with family and health care providers. Advocating for yourself is essential. This course will help you gain skills and confidence to better self-manage your health and outlook on life! Zoom workshop dates: August 25 - October 6, 2021 (encouraged to attend all workshops) Wednesday, August 25, 2021, 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm - Introduction class Wednesdays, September 1 - October 6, 2021, 1:00 pm – 3:30 pm Attendees receive a free copy of Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Conditions and other useful tools to support your journey of healthy living. Volunteering Matters! Clackamas County Volunteer Connection is a vital link for volunteer engagement. We lead the community in volunteer activities that assist seniors, people with disabilities, and residents lacking resources and in need of social services. Staff and volunteers work together to foster opportunities for residents to access services so they can live healthier, more socially connected lives and continue to live independently.
