THE OAKS – This is one in a series of genus-specific tree-tours sponsored by The Dendro Lab NYC in Central Park Take a tour of the northeastern forest region's most common oak trees. We'll review the differences between the red and white oak groups, then learn to identify 12 unique species. Nothing beats seeing them all in a short period of time to highlight and contrast their distinct characteristics. Please note: Meeting spot is across the street from the American Museum of Natural History at the bronze bust of Alexander Von Humboldt at CPW and West 77th Street This entrance to the park is aptly called "Naturalists' Gate." About your guide: Carey is a professional photographer and filmmaker whose first love is natural history.
