August Month long Arts Lab focuses on Upcycle and DIY home decor. Join us for one or many of the workshops. Every Thursday in August we will host DIY home decor and refabrication techniques. Come craft with us and create unique home goods or gifts. All supplies are included. Space is limited. Classes are sliding scale & donation based by income (pay what you can between 10-40). Registration is required August 5th: Macrame and knot tying plant Hangings. Create a lovely hanging plant to add ambiance and air purification to your space. August 12th: Woven Wall Hangings. We'll use fabric scraps, yarn, rode, and beads to create trending ornamentation for your home. August 19th: Collage Frames Use unique materials, patterns & paints to construct fantastical frames for pictures, artwork or mirrors. August 26th: Cerused (Tiger Painting Finishing) Technique Learn the trade secrets behind the tiger stripes on your favorite furniture and musical instruments. In this workshop we will walk through the method to make a demonstration work that can be hung as a masterpiece itself. The August 19th and 26th workshops are brought to you by the fabulous talents of "Polish and Bone" Rock Paper Scissors Collective (RPSC) is a member-directed, all volunteer-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that fosters creativity and collaboration in order to strengthen local communities, encourage sustainable practices, and explore alternative models. We promote the sharing of ideas, skills, and resources through the celebration of art, craft, education, and performance. RPSC currently realizes this mission through low-cost art workshops, curated and open-call gallery exhibitions, retail of handmade and independently produced goods, pop-ups, a variety of community events, and youth involvement.
