During these tough times, we have to bring back old practices to reaffirm the need for growth and urgency for positive change.
This will be a series of five restorative circle bonfires where a cohort of 7-10 people will learn to have difficult conversations with family members, friends, and others to engage in healthy difficult conversations. It's important to be comfortable having difficult conversations with people who don't think like you.
We are looking for folks that are 25 years old and older to participate. There will be a participant waitlist for future circles. A survey will be sent after registration, please respond as soon as possible. Light refreshments will be provided. Thank you for your interest in this exciting and impactful opportunity.
Meet the facilitator: Edwin Gonzalez
Im a proud 90’s baby from Sur Centro Los Angeles, proud of my Afro-Salvi/Guate roots, Circle practitioner & a work in progress. I began working with youth at 16 and immediately became inspired to become more involved in working alongside youth in the hood and practicing restorative justice principles. I've served in a variety of youth roles such as: mentor, teacher, environmental justice organizer, digital media storyteller, after school program coordinator- among other life giving opportunities. Those experiences brought me to Rudy Lozano High School (IJLA) where I served my first 2 years as the Dean of Culture & Restorative Justice and Counselor. As of this year, I have transitioned into my new role as the Digital Media Instructor and am LOOOOOOOOVING IT!
