Global Trail Runner Hillary Allen, Author of "Out And Back: A Runner's Story of Survival Against All Odds" Will be at URC! Join us for a one-of-a-kind event with an amazing runner, athlete and author: Hillary Allen is not, we repeat NOT, just another runner. She’s one of the world’s strongest trail runners, routinely notching wins against the toughest competition in races around the globe. She’s also a survivor and, linked closely to that, an author: after falling 150 feet from some of the most technical terrain in the world, she rebuilt her body, returned to competition, and has set the standard for post-injury perseverance. Oh, and add on to that the nuance that she’s a college instructor, a scientist, a competitive gravel-biker, and an all-around hoot to talk with…and you have just the right mix for the Ultra Running Company’s first post-COVID, in-person event! As a North Face athlete, Hillary helped the TNF team develop the all-new Vectiv line of trail shoes – the Enduris, the Infinite and the Flight Vectiv (the world’s first trail shoe with a carbon-fiber plate). This is the first new line of trail shoes URC has added to our lineup in years, and we think they’re a unique addition to the running scene. We can’t wait to hear her feedback on the development process, her preferences among the lineup, and where she expects TNF to go in the future. Hillary’s book, “Out And Back: A Runner’s Story of Survival Against All Odds” is a fantastic read. From the moment she details the significance of her fall and the resulting injuries through the gripping detail of her recovery, Hillary focuses on the drivers of her survival and the steps she has taken to become comfortable with her own movement again. Driven throughout her life, we are taken along as her relentless desire to move forward builds a path for everyone to follow and overcome adversity as they strive to achieve the life of their own making. We are excited to be a part of Hillary’s book tour and know that you will find value and excitement with every minute we all spend together. So come join us!
