To apply for the position, please submit a resume in response to this posting The Role: The Porter role is a critical to the success of the community. The Porter is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the community grounds, the amenities such as pool area, gym, and laundry room, as well as the building’s exteriors, the parking lots, leasing offices, and other community buildings for a multi-family residential apartment community. The Porter provides excellent customer service in interactions with residents, guests, and prospects. What You Will Be Doing: Essential duties and responsibilities of this position are marked with an asterisk (*) reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. •Protect owner’s interests by managing the community in terms of cleanliness, compliance, and safety*. •Assure that the community is maintained to be a friendly, welcoming, and comfortable place for residents*. •Responsible for the meticulous upkeep of grounds, amenities, building exteriors, signage, leasing office, parking lots, laundry room, BBQ and pool area, fountains (as applicable) and other community buildings*. •Follow all Fair Employment & Housing Act guidelines (FEHA) and Cambridge’s mission and values when interacting with residents, guests, and prospects*. •Removal and proper disposal of all trash from the office areas and community perimeter daily*. •Assist in the preparation of market ready units, including the removal of trash from vacant units (trash outs) prior to a make-ready*. •Proper placement and restoration of dumpsters for pick-up day*. •Uses power-washer as needed in compliance with local and state ordinances to remove debris and dirt from buildings, sidewalks, high traffic areas, etc.*. •Assist in painting areas such as curbs, speed bumps and other areas as assigned*. •Assist in maintaining fountains and removing of algae where applicable*. •Monitor the maintenance condition of the community by reporting conditions to the community manager and submitting requests as appropriate. •Maintenance and upkeep of any pet stations as applicable. •Follow community guidelines and standards regarding cleaning and maintenance of carpeted areas, hardwood or vinyl flooring, walls, fixtures, doors, and windows*. What You Bring to The Table: Education & Experience •Minimum of a High School education or GED. •1 year of experience in a customer focused position. The Physical Work: The role is performed at one or more communities in the field with noise levels in a low to moderate level. This position requires the ability to work outside on a regular basis in various temperature and humidity conditions. While performing the duties of the position, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands for fine manipulation; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk, hear, and smell. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and team lift up to 100 pounds.
