TEWKSBURY, MA — Tewksbury Public Schools won a $87,000 grant from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, state Rep. Dave Robertson said Monday. "Tewksbury Schools will use this grant for summer Acceleration Academies to help students who fell behind during the pandemic," Robertson said. "These week-long academic programs are designed to accelerate student learning in the subjects of reading and mathematics." The state will also be providing webinars and documents to support the district in implementing the Acceleration Academies. "The Early Literacy Program will be available for rising kindergartners, first graders, and second graders, while the Math program will be available for rising third graders, fourth graders, eighth graders, and tenth graders," Robertson wrote.
