We are hosting our own Olympics in the form of a pentathlon divided into two groups: individuals by age groups and family units.
Recreation Ministries is hosting our own summer Olympics on the morning of July 24th. The format is a pentathlon, a five-event competition. There will be two ways to participate – individual by age groups (five – high school senior) and a family unit consisting of a youth and a parent. The exact age groups to be determined by those that sign up.
The list of individual events will be free throws, soccer ball kick, the long jump, corn hole, 30-yard sprint, target frisbee, softball throw, crab race, ladder ball. The family events will be the three-legged race, badminton, a magic carpet ride, water balloon toss, free throws, human wheelbarrow, and corn hole. You must pick 5 to participate in.
We need all interested parties to sign up by July 18th to help organize the volunteers, layout the fields, and plan the schedule.
There will be a contest for best dressed national spirit, not necessarily restricted to the USA.
There will be an awards ceremony that Sunday during Praise in the Park. Please sign up with Angie or Paula and direct your questions to Bruce Seidner at [email protected]
