Description
SALEM, MA — Those in the area of the Highland Avenue Market on Friday who have yet to receive their coronavirus vaccination can pick up a $25 gift card by getting their shot on site.
The Mass General Brigham mobile COVID vaccination unit will be outside the Salem location from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on July 23 in partnership with the Salem Board of Health.
Both the two-shot Pfizer vaccine and the one-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine will be available.
Vaccines are free with no proof of citizenship or insurance needed. Anyone 12 years old or older is eligible for the Pfizer vaccine — although those ages 12 through 17 must have a parent's or guardian's permission.
The mobile unit is part of a vaccination outreach plan designed to bring the coronavirus vaccine to people where they are and provide educational material about the shot and its benefits.
Salem Hospital had several Salem and Peabody mobile vaccination locations this week, although Sunday's event at the Mary Queen Apostles Parish has been canceled.
