Join us for a community discussion about healthcare disparities featuring Robert Einterz, MD., and Cassy White, MPH as Keynote speakers. What's It All About? The South Bend Reparations Working Group's subcommitte, comprised of a diverse group of concerned residents, and the Civil Rights Heritage Center has joined arms to address healthcare disparities in St. Joseph County, Indiana. We are sponsoring a communitywide healthcare discussion featuring Robert Einterz, MD., and Cassy White, MPH as our keynote speakers. Dr. Einterz ("Dr.Bob") is the Health Officer of the St. Joseph County Departmment of Health. Ms White is the Director of the Department's Health Equity, Epidemiology, and Data Unit. contrast, simultaneously, a person's racial or ethnic group unfairly advantages individuals and their communities. And, typically Racism creates a troubling system that causes poor health and healthcare within the Black and low-income communities. The South Bend Reparations Working Group, and our co-sponsor, the Civil Rights Heritage Center, invite the community to join us to help shape the Health Department's ideas and actions regarding healthcare problems in St Joseph County. What Do You Know?Do you know the negative repercussions of Racism? Do you know what health disparities are and how they affect life-long health outcomes? Do you know the root causes of poor health? Do you know what generational issues contribute to poor health, particularly in Black and low-income Communities?Do you know if and how to eliminate Healthcare Disparities?We Invite You to Join Us!Please join us for an informative/interactive evening as we learn about healthcare disparities, root causes of poor health, how generational issues affect marginal populations, and brainstorm together to find healthier options for our friends, family, and neighbors. Dr. Bob and Ms. White will discuss these topics and more, followed by a host of interactive activities - Q&A, Breakout Sessions, and Action Planning to determine what will be our Next Steps. Our Objective - We are working to solve "Healthcare Disparities" in St. Joseph County.
