Description
TACOMA, WA — One person has died in an early morning house fire Thursday in Tacoma.
At 5 a.m. Tacoma Fire reported that their crews had been called to a home on fire in the 4600 block of East B Street.
By the time the first crews arrived at the scene, they say at least a quarter of the building was already ablaze. Within 10 minutes, firefighters had pulled a victim from the burning building, but unfortunately they passed away shortly afterwards while receiving medical treatment.
Firefighters fully contained the blaze just before 6 a.m., but remained on scene for several hours afterwards to investigate and mop up hot spots. Ultimately, investigators found that the blaze had started at the kitchen stove top, and the fire has been ruled an accident.
