NEW MILFORD, NJ — A Teaneck man was arrested in connection with four car burglaries that were reported June 22, according to the police.
The victims told police that many items were stolen including cash, debit and credit cards, personal identification and gift cards. One victim's debit card was used to buy something in River Edge not long after the theft, police said.
An investigation determined that Amari Estiverne, 25, was a suspect in the burglaries, police said. Police then searched Estiverne's house on a warrant, and he was taken into custody.
While attempting to arrest Estiverne, he became verbally combative with officers and would not comply with their orders, police said.
Estiverne was charged with four counts of burglary and four counts of theft.
He was also charged by Teaneck police with resisting arrest and by River Edge police with receiving stolen property and identity theft.
Estiverne was released on a summons with a return court date.
