CARLSBAD, CA — A boat caught fire Thursday morning off the coast of Carlsbad.
The fire was reported shortly before 9:45 a.m. on a 50-foot vessel about three miles off the coast of Carlsbad, Coast Guard spokesman Adam Stanton said.
The boat had left from Oceanside, but it was not immediately clear when it caught fire or how the fire started, Stanton said.
Photo and video on Twitter showed a plume of smoke over the ocean.
No other information was immediately available.
