Specialty Construction Inc., a large well-established regional San Luis Obispo based construction firm, seeking motivated, professional, and career minded Low Bed Driver. Job Description: • Applicant is required to have an unencumbered and current California Class A driver’s license. A supplemental Hazardous Endorsement is preferred. • Applicant should have extensive experience loading and hauling heavy equipment via tractor and multi-axle trailers within California. • Applicant should be experienced to make application to Caltrans and other jurisdictional agencies to acquire appropriate moving permits. • Applicant should be familiar with processes and maintenance toward compliance within the California Highway Patrol BIT Program. • It is preferred that applicant has some experience with lube & fueling procedures for heavy equipment, and upon limited occasion fulfill these responsibilities driving a lube & fuel truck. • It is also preferred that applicant is willing to operate heavy equipment or dump trucks on civil type projects when the need arises. • It is also preferred that applicant has some aptitude for vehicle and/or heavy equipment mechanic skills. Job Responsibilities are predominantly limited to 8-hour days/40-hours per week; however, longer work days or work weeks may be required depending upon work load. Responsibilities may require occasional out of town duties and over-night stays; however these situational circumstances are very limited (over-night hotel and per diem are paid by Company). Positive attitude, willingness to take direction and being a team player are paramount. Compensation is hourly based on experience.
