We will be vacationing in Kennebunkport for 3 weeks in August (Aug. 10-28), and we're fortunate to be staying in a house with a large heated pool. We have 3 kids - ages 10, 8 and 6 - and each needs swim lessons! The oldest is a pretty good swimmer, our middle can zip around OK, and our youngest just sort of barely dog-paddles! We're looking to hire someone who can come over for about an hour a day to teach our two younger kids (and maybe some time with the oldest as well). We will pay $80/hour, and given that you'll need to travel to and from our place, we'll bump it up to $100/day to factor in your travel time. We can play it by ear, but we're thinking you would spend approximately 30 minutes with each kid, each day. We're particularly interested in finding someone who is local in Kennebunkport. Ideal candidates will have significant experience teaching swimming to kids and who offer a fun, glass-half-full disposition. Not to sound grouchy, but we will be only be interested in candidates who can provide references regarding their swim teaching experience. Last year we found a wonderful woman who was captain her swim team in college; she really knew her stuff but was also fun, encouraging, creative and great with kids! That's what we're looking for.
