JOB TITLE/DURATION/LOCATION Mold, Fire, Water, Remediation Field Technician Full time Atlanta, Georgia and Its Surrounding Areas JOB DESCRIPTION "How comfortable are you with getting into basements and crawl spaces'?" "Do you have your own reliable transportation?" "Are you really good with using hand and power tools?" "Are you comfortable working as part of a team/crew?" "Are you comfortable driving daily for work?" Depending on your answers, you may be a good fit for us to be a Mold, Fire, Water, Remediation Field Technician. • Demolition - removal, and decontamination behind removed residential home or commercial building materials. • Decontamination - all work activity associated with removing mold, mold spores, soil, carbon, cellulose, drywall dust, insulation, glass-like fibers, skin fragments, and water from surfaces. • Equipment - air scrubbers (commercial air filtration machine), dehumidifiers (removes moisture from the air), ozone machines (kills mold and bacteria) and air movers (used for drying out building materials.) • Temporary Containment - to prevent cross-contamination from living/work areas into other areas of the residential home or commercial building. • Permanent Containment - to prevent areas and materials of a residential home or commercial building from contributing to allergens and toxins within the living/working areas. • Ability to work well as part of a team and follow direction from a supervisor. • Capability to perform physically demanding work, such as moving furniture or appliances during a household remediation job. • Capability to work overhead and on a ladder or scaffold for an extended period of time. • Competency to utilize, maintain and service various types of equipment required for mold remediation, such as fans and power tools. • Ability to perform work in varying temperatures; temperatures may be extreme. • Ability to properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) and self-care to protect against biohazardous contaminants exposure. • Ability to provide excellent customer service and effective communication while performing mold remediation at work sites. • Willingness to partake in training sessions and complete required certifications. • Knowledgeable in mold identification and inspection; willing to work continually on professional development. • Determine moisture readings using moisture meters; regularly calibrate instruments. • Willingness to follow company and OSHA policies and procedures. • Willingness to stay at the work site for as long as it takes to complete the job, depending on work schedule for that day. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES • Perform all specific tasks associated with demolition, decontamination, using equipment, temporary and permanent containment. • Have and maintain your own reliable transportation. • Stay in full company uniform while working (hat, shirt, trousers, belt and steel toe boots). • Wear ID badge while working. • Read and initial/sign Scope of Work for all jobs. • Inventory and maintain all assigned/given company equipment and supplies. • Maintain company vehicles. • Document all work before, during and after job completion. • Take and immediately upload photos of work site and remediation process to the online mHelpDesk platform. REQUIREMENTS • PREFERRED: Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) Certification • PREFERRED: Xactimate® Certification • GED or High School Diploma • Degree in a public health related subject, occupational health and safety, or biology or botany (for understanding the effects and causes of mold in the workplace and residential spaces). • Specialized experience in mold remediation. • Work in any building environment. • Knowledge of HVAC systems for relative humidity, temperature and moisture control. • Knowledge of plumbing/piping for leaks and moisture control. • Knowledge of construction/carpentry using various other building materials. • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
