Description
Guitarist and bassist, both Gen-Xers, working to build a rock cover band from the ground up, seek an experienced drummer to build the band around. Need a drummer who can host practice sessions. We're residents of Gainesville, but willing to commute in order to work with someone in a neighboring county (Cumming or Buford area, for instance).
Musical influences are pretty eclectic, but we gravitate toward Faith No More, Alice in Chains, Black Sabbath, and David Bowie. Have dabbled in some "indie-flavored" music as well (Pixies, Butthole Surfers, Dead Kennedys), and would have no problem going in that direction. The right drummer will help shape the direction of the band.
We're both career professionals with families and day jobs. Envision a band that rehearses modestly (individual members learn the material and come prepared), putting ourselves in position to play live, periodically, as opportunities come along. Not looking to tour or hit the big time; would be happy with a handful of gigs a year or a gig-a-month. Mostly, we want to enjoy playing music, but be professional about it. (Don't equate enjoyment or "fun" with superficial or lackluster). Not interested in drugs, drama, politics, or racism.
If you believe we might have some common ground, feel free to contact. Demos available on request, but we ask for a sample of your playing as well. Serious inquires only please.
