I play bass, and I own both acoustic and electric basses. I'm looking for a rock oriented band to play a wide variety of genres. Basically any music that a cool person would hear and say "that's a great song I haven't heard in ages." Blues, country, rock, shoegaze, grunge, jam band, and a little psychedelia. I'm pretty much up for anything that's not too dark or aggressive. J.J. Cale, Blue Cheer, Buddy Guy, B.B. King, Grateful Dead, Jorma, Frank Black, The Byrds, Hank, Willie, Charlie Daniels, Little Feat, Neil Young, Cracker, Beck, John Mellencamp, Wilco, Bowie, Clutch, Santana, Stone Roses, Screaming Trees I can sing a little with a baritone vocal range between B2 and B4. My karaoke choice is Wishing Well by Morphine, and my timbre lines up with Sir Rockaby by Frank Black. Ideally I'd like to come up with a stable of songs to choose from depending on how stoned the audience is. I believe that live music should be transformative; it needs to poke at the dark corners of your psyche and ultimately lift you up.
