South Kingstown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is looking for a full-time Maintenance Technician. If you are a highly motivated individual with a drive for success and compassion for the elderly, this could be a job for you! Maintenance workers are given the ability to perform quality routine preventative maintenance and emergency repairs throughout the facility as well as complete aesthetic maintenance such as painting the interior and exterior of structures, buildings and other surfaces. A qualified candidate for this position is knowledgeable in painting preparatory work and selecting the right materials for each job. They have experience in painting with various tools and at various heights and spaces while observing all safety measures. They will also have experience in maintaining building operations to ensure the facility is safe and functional at all times to best serve our residents. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: -Completion and close out of work orders -General tasks including carpentry, plumbing and electrical, cleaning, etc. -Coordinating vendor service along with assistance from supervisory staff -Snow removal -Maintain building and tool inventory logs -Preparing walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping, sanding, removing old paint etc. -Fill cracks and holes with appropriate material (e.g. plaster) -Paint surfaces according to instructions with various tools -Apply varnish and other finishes -Knowledge of commercial and/or construction painting techniques -Conduct oneself in a professional manner when dealing with residents, vendors, and staff Qualifications: -Valid RI driver license -High school diploma or GED -General facilities and building construction knowledge -Must be able to push, pull, move and/or lift a minimum of 50 pounds -Manual dexterity with excellent balance to work on scaffolding, ladders etc. -Must adhere to all health and safety precautions -Knowledge of HVAC Systems is a plus -Ability to work one weekend per month -Conscientious with great attention to detail Benefits for full time employees include medical and dental insurance, life insurance, health savings account and 401K with a 75% employer match for contributions.
