We are currently looking for additional crew members for jobs starting up in Wyoming for the following positions: Equipment Operators - Safely and skillfully operate and maintain construction equipment and assigned vehicles (backhoe, cable plow, mini ex, hydrovac, fiber blower, and/or other utility construction equipment needed); Train others on proper operation of equipment; Visually assess digging areas to ensure that areas have been staked/located prior to digging; Stake/locate work areas prior to digging. Make an effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide seamless customer service with quality and timeliness. Skilled Laborers - Assists crew in daily task of excavation, trenching and installing Fiber Optic Cable. This is an entry level position that will require significant training and testing within the first 90 days of employment. Daily tasks will include but not be limited to, digging trenches/holes with shovel, gathering and storing tools, greasing equipment, maintaining a clean and safe work zone. Directional Drill Operators - MasTec is currently seeking someone who is experienced in the operation of directional boring machines and other pieces of equipment as needed, such as a Backhoe and vacuum excavator. The Operator must also have experience drilling in various conditions. Duties include setting up and operating highly specialized directional drills, reading and interpret plans, instructions, and specifications to determine work activities, Monitoring electronic guidance and locating equipment during the drilling phases, adding or removing drill rods, carrying out minor maintenance and repairs, including lubrication and cleaning, performing all duties according to prescribed safety procedures and uses appropriate safety equipment. Directional Drill Locators - Confirm bore path with install foreman and drill operator (including walking the bore path); Perform job site analysis (JSA) including completion of paperwork; Ensure there are proper clearances to install the product per standards; Record the depth of the tool head as required; Ensure the drill head is in a good position at the exit pit to connect the product; Oversee laborers and/or crew member's work and monitor time usage. General Responsibilities: (include but are not limited to) • Operates vehicles and equipment operations from trucks to other equipment as directed and certified. • Perform daily equipment inspections and operator preventive maintenance checks. Report any malfunctions of equipment or problems to immediate supervisor. • Must always comply with proper safety standards/procedures and work practices while operating equipment according to MasTec's safety standards. • Directly responsible for all personal actions and any vehicles or equipment in their care, custody or control • Report all personal & vehicle accidents/incidents immediately to supervisors, cooperate and assist in the investigations. • Restore area to project requirements. Basic Qualifications: • General knowledge of construction practices; • Knowledge of traffic laws, ordinances, rules involved in equipment operation, hazards and applicable safety rules and precautions for heavy equipment operation; • Competent in the laws, regulations, and identification of underground utility locations; • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs; • Ability to do physically demanding tasks; • Able/willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions; • Able to work extended hours and some weekends and holidays when required Preferred Qualifications: • Valid Class A CDL driver's license; • Prior Underground Utility experience; • Prior Fiber Placement experience Don't miss this great opportunity!
