Learn to be a Dance Teacher! Avant Garden Ballroom Academy is looking for a new Intern! This is a free program: we give you free training, and you help us out at events and private lessons. At our events and lessons you will serve as assistant instructors and extra dancers. It is super fun, invaluable, on-the-job training! There is also an opening for a dance instructor, so anyone who excels in our intern program will be the considered as a paid instructor within a few months. You must be sufficient at dancing and teaching basic lessons, in about 5 or 6 different dances before you may teach at all. The pace is completely up to you... how much time you practice, and how fast you are willing to learn. We teach beginner and intermediate levels of Merengue, Salsa, Bachata, Rumba, Cha-Cha, Tango, Swing, Waltz, Fox-trot, and a little Country/Western. Although I will work with your schedule as much as possible, you must be available for all of our training, special events, and your scheduled lessons. Our program is designed to accommodate your job or school, but obviously, your schedule has to mostly match up with ours. **It is about a 6-8 hour commitment per week. Our Studio is on Menaul, near Wyoming, in the NE Heights. You will also need your own transportation in order to take newly scheduled lessons, rescheduled lessons, and get to events, which could be anywhere in town. I have been teaching dance for 26 years, and have had the opportunity to learn from some of the best dancers in the world. After all of that time, by far, the happiest part of my job is having my team, and having a strong influence on building new dance teachers with strong, solid skills. If you ever dreamed of being dance instructor, now is your chance! I will start everyone out with phone interviews. You do not need an experience to apply, but you must be able to accommodate the schedule, and have enough free time to take new lessons when they come up. My biggest requirement is that you simply want to be here...you have to love dance, and you have to want to teach it!
