In 1834, a portion of the Joseph Hache Grant was donated by two citizens to relocate the parish seat to Houma. This plot of ground not only represents our town's beginnings, but generosity forward thinking and civic duty. The Hache Grant Association was founded on these principles.
The Hache Grant Association's first revitalization project will be rebuilding the historic bandstand, which originally sat in downtown Houma's courthouse square. It was subsequently moved to Legion Park and later destroyed. This amenity was built for the community's enjoyment, but the community's people. Rebuilding it is a tangible improvement to Terrebonne's quality of life and fits squarely into the purpose of the Hache Grant Association.
