In this class, we introduce you to the welding tools in The Foundry's Metalshop in making a Metal Shelf. Come join us and create your own sleek, industrial metal shelf! This class will guide you through safe use of the tools in The Foundry's Metalshop. You'll learn about: Cutting bar metal using a chop sawPreparing cut sheet metal for weldingSuccessfully forming right anglesUsing a MIG welder to tack weld and “run a bead”Safely operating a grinder to deburr and finish your workNOTE: Long Sleeves, long pants and closed-toed shoes are important to wear for safety in this shop. Class Cost: $75 (materials fee included) Class Size: Min 4/ Max 6 This class needs to meet the minimum enrollment in order to run. Participants will be notified of the status of class the Monday prior to the first session. In case of cancellation, participants can choose another scheduled date if available or request a refund. Ages: 18+    A NOTE ABOUT COVID -19 The CDC recommends that individuals who are not fully vaccinated continue to wear a mask and maintain physical distance. This means that vaccinated individuals will be allowed to be unmasked in the building if they so choose. Please be supportive of everyone's right to choose what they are most comfortable with.
