Looking for a skilled carpenter for residential work doing framing, interior remodeling, decks and general carpentry. Generally work on North side of Chicago and northern suburbs. If you are looking to start in the construction industry or have many years of experience, we are looking for good employees as the business continues to grow. We have enough work to keep all our employees busy. We provide all the tools and transportation. Basic carpentry tools and reliable transportation required. Pay varies depending upon experience. Job Type: Full-time Pay: $25-$40 per hour Experience: Construction Experience: 1 year (Preferred) Carpentry: 1 year (Preferred) License/Certification: Driver's License (Preferred) Work Location: Near north side of Chicago and north suburbs Job Duties: Reading and interpreting blueprints Understanding customer requirements Responding to change orders Performing other trades (light electrical, plumbing, tile and granite, etc.) Operating light equipment (Bobcats, forklifts, etc.) Managing peers (dividing job tasks, working as a team) Training apprentices and/or coworkers Recommending job improvements, alternative methods, etc. (problem solve) Knowledge of building codes and regulations Knowledge of job site safety rules and regulations (OSHA) Knowledge of woods and their uses and adaptability Knowledge of methods, tools, and equipment used in carpentry This Job Is Ideal for Someone Who Is: Dependable -- more reliable than spontaneous Adaptable/flexible -- enjoys doing work that requires frequent shifts in direction Autonomous/Independent -- enjoys working with little direction This Job Is: Open to applicants who do not have a high school diploma/GED A good fit for applicants with gaps in their resume, or who have been out of the workforce for the past 6 months or more Open to applicants who do not have a college diploma Work Remotely: No
