The Esplanade Association, in partnership with Feminist Bird Club, will be leading a leisurely guided bird walk along the park – great for beginners and experts alike! We will walk around 1 mile, identifying birds and learning how to use binoculars and field guides. We will have limited binoculars to share – if you have any, please bring them along. The Esplanade is home to a variety of species from songbirds to waterfowl and of course - the Esplanade's beloved swan family that has captured the hearts of many since May 2021. You can view the latest sightings on the Esplanade on eBird. No prior birding experience is necessary and everyone is welcome; jumpstart your day with some birding! All Guided Bird Tours will meet outside Community Boating's main entrance. We’ll walk west out onto the Esplanade's island and loop back! ABOUT OUR GUIDED TOUR SERIES This bird walk is part of the Esplanade Association’s guided tour series. Join the Esplanade once a month to learn about the ins and outs of the park, from our history to our trees! You can find a calendar of all of our guided tours on our website. ABOUT FEMINIST BIRD CLUB Feminist Bird Club is a bird watching club dedicated to promoting diversity in birding and providing a safe opportunity to connect with the natural world while fundraising to protect the rights of LGBTQIA+ folks, women and people of color. Your suggested donation of $10 would support the Esplanade Association's work to revitalize, enhance, program and maintain the Charles River Esplanade. Thank you! The Esplanade Association is a nonprofit organization that works to revitalize and enhance the Charles River Esplanade, sustain its natural green space, and build community in the park by providing educational, cultural, and recreational programs for everyone.
