The economic loss experienced by the tourism industry was more than nine times the impact of 9/11 on travel sector revenue. Despite the dire state of travel, the Tupelo CVB shared a message of positivity throughout the pandemic to inspire future visitation to the city and remind its citizens why Tupelo is the Center of Positivity. About Our Presenters Kylie Boring serves as the Director of Marketing for the Tupelo Convention and Visitors Bureau where she has worked for nearly eight years. Kylie is active in the PRAM Northeast chapter and has been recognized as one of Mississippi Business Journal’s Top 40 under 40, Southeast Tourism Society’s 2015 Rising Star award, and earning STS’s Travel Marketing Professional accreditation in 2017. She graduated with a B.A. degree in Journalism from the University of Southern Mississippi. ***** As Public Relations and International Sales Director for the Tupelo Convention & Visitors Bureau, Jennie Bradford Curlee inspires visitation to the birthplace of Elvis Presley. She previously served as Director of Corporate Communications for the Community Development Foundation, where she worked on the team that recruited Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Mississippi to Northeast Mississippi. Jennie Bradford earned the Tourism Marketing Professional certification through Southeast Tourism Society in 2015, and was honored as the twelve-state tourism organization’s Rising Star in 2014. A member of the Public Relations Association of Mississippi (PRAM), she served as president of the statewide organization in 2017 and served as president of PRAM’s parent organization, the Southern Public Relations Federation in 2018. She was named one of Mississippi’s Top 50 Under 40 by the Mississippi Business Journal in 2016. Her work in public relations has garnered numerous awards including the William A. Taylor Best of Show Award at the Southern Public Relations Federation’s Lantern Awards in 2018. She received a Public Relations Society of America Bronze Anvil Award in 2020 for her work promoting Tupelo as an emerging culinary destination. She has won countless Public Relations Association of Mississippi PRism Awards and Southern Public Relations Association Lantern Awards for her work in the field of public relations. Jennie Bradford delights in serving her community. She is a member of the United Way of Northeast Mississippi board, currently serving as chairman of the Communications Committee. She is a life member of the Junior Auxiliary and served as Vice President of Finance in 2018, raising over $180,000 for children’s charities in Tupelo and Lee County as chairman of Charity Ball. She served two terms as president of the Tupelo-Lee Humane Society board, is a past president of the Tupelo Tennis Association, and past president of the Lyric Krewe, the volunteer arm of the Tupelo Community Theatre. She was named Tupelo Women’s Club “Woman of the Year” in 2008 when she served as Holiday Tree Festival co-chairman, raising over $30,000 for non-profits in the Tupelo area. A member of Calvary Baptist Church, Jennie Bradford enjoys singing in the Sanctuary Choir, teaching children’s choir, and serving on the children’s committee. Jennie Bradford loves running and travel. She completed her first full marathon in 2019. She and her husband, John Curlee, spend most of their free time watching their ten-year old son, Miles, play baseball. PRAM Northeast is based in Tupelo, Mississippi, and is one of 10 chapters that make up the Public Relations Association of Mississippi (PRAM). PRAM is a state-wide organization, and the Northeast Chapter is home to members from all over Northeast Mississippi who work in Public Relations (PR), Marketing, Communication and Media. The organization provides members the opportunity to network among peers for the purpose of professional development, continuing education, accreditation, achievement recognition, and to hone skills required for success in the field.  As a member of PRAM Northeast, practitioners are also eligible to submit their work for recognition and peer review in the annual PRism Awards hosted by the Public Relations Association of Mississippi and to the Lantern Awards hosted by the Southern Public Relations Federation. Members are also eligible to pursue their Accrediation in Public Relations (APR), a nationally recognized graduate program designed to demonstrate competency in the knowledge, skills and abilities required to practice public relations effectively.
