Come build a Palo Alto themed birdhouse at Cubberley Community Center. Reserve a table and build a Palo Alto themed birdhouse at the Cubberley Community Center. Sponsored by the City of Palo Alto ArtLift Microgrant program, this workshop encourages families to come out and re-engage with their neighborhoods by constructing a birdhouse based on one of the many recognizable home designs in Palo Alto. Local artist Darryl Dieckman, a woodworker in the Cubberley Artist Studio Program, will lead in-person workshops at the Cubberley Community Center on July 17th and July 18th. Each reservation will include: An outdoor work area for up to 4 family membersONE birdhouse kit (styles available on a first-come/first-served basis)Tools for assembling the birdhouseDecorations and accessoriesAdditional birdhouse kits are available for purchase at checkout. Proceeds from birdhouse sales will be used to create more kits for additional community events. Please consider purchasing an additional kit if your family would like to build more than one birdhouse. Take your new birdhouse home or leave it behind to join an exhibit at Town and Country Shopping Center. Birdhouses will be on exhibit in Suite 20 (next to Howard's Shoes for Children) at Town and Country Shopping Center from August 1st to August 31st. Arrangements will be made to pick-up birdhouses after the exhibit. It has been a long year and the community needs to strengthen its wings as it prepares to take flight and return to the skies.
