Suspect In Harlem Killing Is Sought By Police

HARLEM, NY — Police have released photos of a person of interest in last month's Harlem shooting that left a 31-year-old man dead. The June 21 shooting happened around 2:30 a.m. on West 140th Street near Frederick Douglass Boulevard. The victim, Tamel Jackson-Breland, was hit in the back and was taken to Harlem Hospital. Jackson-Breland, a resident of Middletown, N.Y., could not be saved, though the hospital was just a few blocks from the site of the shooting. Photos show the unidentified suspect seemingly making a purchase at a convenience store. He is wanted for questioning, authorities said. Police asked anyone with information about the man's identity to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
