Description
NEWARK, NJ — In Newark, pride is a year-round celebration.
Earlier this week, the city held a flag-raising ceremony at City Hall as part of its 16th annual LGBTQIA+ Pride Week. The event comes in the wake of national Pride Month, which falls in June.
On Monday, an eager lineup of city officials, community activists and local residents gathered to raise a rainbow progressive flag, a universal symbol of LGBTQIA+ pride and inclusion. It will fly outside City Hall throughout the week.
After the flag-raising, there was a reception at Nico Kitchen and Bar at NJPAC to kick off the Newark LGBTQIA Pride Week events.
