MORRISTOWN, NJ — For much of the pandemic, Morristown Patch has provided weekly local updates and roundups of coronavirus numbers and news. During those months, cases were higher, deaths occurred more frequently and vaccinations remained either inaccessible or hard to obtain. With transmission lower than those prior months and vaccines easier to come across, weekly updates no longer feel necessary. For the time being, Morristown Patch will provide COVID-19 roundups every so often, while continuing — as always — to report on local pandemic developments. Cases Morris County officials have reported seven cases in Morristown from July 6 to Thursday, bringing the town to 2,211 cases since the pandemic began. Officials reported 31 new cases county-wide — Morris County's highest total since Monday, when the county reported 42 new infections.
