Come see who A Home From Shana is and why we need you to support our mission. A Home From Shana Foundation was created to honor the memory of Lashana M. Gilmore, a healthy young mother who died while giving birth on July 26, 2019. On that day "Shana", as friends and family called her, became the percentage of Black women in America who experience preventable birth-related complications and in some instances like hers, maternal mortality. Through tragedy there is triumph. A Home from Shana Foundation focuses on educating pregant women in our community on childbirth rights and teaching them how to advocate for themselves and each other. On Thursday July 22, 2021 we invite you to come and hear the voices of the people who are speaking up for the mothers and babies, whose voices we'll never hear again. We invite you to see why your support is needed so we could open a 24 hour safe haven for pregnant mothers in less fortunate circumstances and require a little extra support.
