HAMDEN, CT — A man is accused of sexually assaulting an employee and masturbating inside a store in Hamden, according to police. Police responded to the store, located in the 1100 block of Dixwell Avenue, on May 11 on the report of "inappropriate touching," according to Capt. Ronald Smith. Smith said an investigation found that Jabron Matheney entered the store and began to masturbate. He then proceeded to "grab" an employee on the buttocks, according to Smith. Officer Daniel Allen conducted an investigation that led to an arrest warrant for Matheney. Matheney, 27, of Hamden, was arrested July 13 and charged with fourth-degree sexual assault and public indecency. He was held in lieu of a $3,000 bond with a court date of Sept. 14. Matheney was also arrested May 20 in connection with a public indecency incident inside a Walgreens in Hamden. He was accused of standing behind a female customer and masturbating inside the store, according to Smith. He is scheduled to appear in court on July 28 in connection with that case.
