Attempted Kidnapping Suspect Sought In Austin

AUSTIN, TX — Austin police are seeking the public's help finding a suspect who is linked to an attempted kidnapping. The suspect is identified as a man in his 40's or 50's, has a medium build, stands at 5-foot 10 inches, has shoulder length hair and a light brown, unkept medium-length beard with "very blue" eyes. He was last seen wearing a "really dirty" white shirt and pants, authorities said Wednesday. Police said the attempted kidnapping took place around 8 p.m. in the wooded area between Cobblestone and Cedar Elm Trail in the 7900 block of Cobblestone. Officials said the victim was walking along a trail behind her home when the man emerged from the woods. The man attempted to pull the victim into the woods away from the trail. The victim fought the suspect and was able to free herself, authorities said. Police said if you see this suspect, please call 9-1-1 immediately.
