Description

This dog is pretty cool. I found him loose on a long country road while on my routes and opened the door, he jumped right in. Found out he was chipped and contacted the owners who had him for the last 2 years. They came and picked him up but unfortunately, they just arent able to keep him so they asked if I would take him. Hes a large dog that pulled non stop on a leash and he was just too much for the mom of the family to walk. He likes to go out on adventures and thats hard to do when its a chore for the owners. Ive been working on that with him and he walks next to me without a leash now. He comes to the sound of a beep or his name. The most suitable home would be with someone who lives alone but can take him with them a lot. He has ridden in the car with me for hours and doesnt get sick or act up. He will just lay down on the seat or sniff the wind. He knows his person and is a clingy dog. He will cry when you leave. He doesnt bark so much but howls or whimpers when alone. He does great on the trails, doesnt chase people or bikes, and has gotten along with every loose dog that has run up on him, bigger than him and smaller. He is friendly with people and other animals. He would do well at a dog park, being a jogging partner, or going exploring. As much as I would like to keep him, I was given more routes and am now working 11+ hour days 6 days a week. I also have to move and Ill have to find a room in someone elses house... no stranger is going to want to hear a dog crying on the occasions I have to leave him home and its already hard enough just to find a place that will accept dogs. He seems to know not to pee on carpet but he has peed on our hard floor and was corrected. His old owners had carpet I believe and they said he never peed in the house but needed to be let out after eating his food so he can do his business. He knows how to sit but sometimes is lazy about it unless you have treats. He will come with his bed, a crate, small bag of dog food, a few toys (even though he doesnt play with them, he might learn later), flea ointment, a box of biscuits and his regular collar/training collar. You will have to go online and register the chip with your info. Rehoming fee applies.
