CONCORD, NH — The U.S. Marshals-New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force is asking for the public's help with a federal fugitive who is wanted on charges in two states. Anthony Govan, 28, is 5 feet, 8 inches, weighs around 170 pounds, and has black hair and brown eyes. The Massachusetts native has scars on his arm, back, and abdomen, according to Jeffrey White, a deputy marshal for the task force, but no known aliases. A warrant for his arrest was issued on Feb. 9 on a bail violation accusation out of U.S. District Court in Concord after being arrested on a felony possession with intent to distribute charge. Govan was arrested in July 2019 after New Hampshire State Police stopped his vehicle on Interstate 95 in Greenland and later, accused him of being in possession of 150 grams of heroin-fentanyl. "Govan was also on GPS monitoring in Massachusetts but cut the GPS bracelet off and stopped reporting," White said. "Govan was on GPS monitoring in Massachusetts due to an ongoing case involving firearms charges." Govan was last seen in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood of Boston but fled before he could be apprehended by authorities, White said. "Govan has ties throughout the Boston area," he added. An "armed and dangerous, assaultive" warning has been put on Govan's fugitive alert. If you know where Govan is or see someone who looks like him, do not try to apprehend him. Contact local police or the task force directly at 603-225-1632. Editor's note: This post was derived from information supplied by the U.S. Marshals Service and does not indicate a conviction.
