Collab Team Holds Homeless Outreach Effort In Santa Monica

SANTA MONICA, CA —A collaborative, outreach effort of the Homeless Liaison Program Team in Santa Monica, which included police and mental health staff, was conducted Friday at the beach and surrounding area to assist with encampment clean-up and advise unhoused individuals of social-service programs. Among team members were the Homeless Liaison Program Team, Neighborhood Resource Officers, patrol officers and crews from the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health and the Santa Monica Fire Department, with a Mobile Command Post stationed in Lot 4 South, the Santa Monica Police Department said. West Coast Care, and the county's city-funded C3 multidisciplinary team, operated by @thepeopleconcern also were present, and beach maintenance assisted with encampment cleanup, the department added. According to authorities, the operation resulted in: 18 outreach referrals16 advisals10 field interview cards5 citations1 arrest for public campingRemoval of several encampments for listed contacts. "Efforts continue citywide to connect those experiencing homelessness to services," officials said.
