PHILADELPHIA, PA – The 2021 Blue Cross Broad Street Run will take place on Oct. 10, officials announced Wednesday.
The Philadelphia race has become the largest 10-miler in the country and the sixth largest road race in the nation.
Last year, the race was run virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but this year it will be back in full force.
"The Broad Street Run is one of our city's signature events, and we can't wait to see everyone back on Broad Street in October," said Kathryn Ott Lovell, Commissioner of Philadelphia Parks & Recreation, in a prepared statement. "You don't have to run to be a part of the race to enjoy the excitement of the Broad Street Run. Enjoy all the fun and festivities and the spirit of Philadelphia that makes our 10 mile race the best in the country."
Participants in the May 2020 Broad Street Run are guaranteed entry into this year's race. Registration for the 2021 race will open on Thursday at 12:01 a.m. for those guaranteed entry.
The race fee is $57 and 2020 participants will receive a 20 percent discount.
If all spots are not filled by 2020 registrants, there will be a limited lottery to fill any remaining spots.
The race will be broadcast live in its entirety from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on NBC10 and Telemundo62.
