South Bay Doctor Charged With Sexual Battery Against Patient

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA — A South Bay doctor was arrested last week on suspicion of sexual battery against a female patient. Todd Yao, 50, an urgent care medical doctor at Sutter Health in Mountain View, was accused of forcibly pushing, straddling and kissing the victim on the lips on three separate occasions, according to the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety. Yao had befriended the victim after treatment in November 2020, according to police. Police said that Yao's social status as a medical doctor initially kept the victim from reporting the incident, but she decided to come forward out of concern for other potential victims. Yao was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail.
