PORTOLA VALLEY, CA — An employee from a local pest control company was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of stealing jewelry from homes that he was serving.
Connor Timmons, a 23-year-old Menlo Park resident, was accused by the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office of using his occupation to steal jewelry from the homes of unsuspecting victims.
A probation search of Timmons' residence Tuesday revealed a large amount of jewelry from his bedroom, including items belonging to a Portola Valley resident who reported a theft on July 2, the sheriff's office said. Timmons had been working in the victim's home earlier in the day.
Timmons "could not give an answer to how he obtained the other jewelry that did not belong to the victim," according to the sheriff's office. He was charged with grand theft and possession of stolen property.
The sheriff's office didn't name the pest control company, but disclosed that it services San Mateo and Santa Clara counties.
Timmons was booked into the San Mateo County Jail.
