CHICAGO HEIGHTS, IL — As the industrial economy rebounds and e-commerce continues to accelerate, the less-than-truckload (LTL) transportation industry (valued at ~$42 billion) is seeing tremendous growth across North America, according to a news release from XPO Logistics. The company will be hosting a hiring event on Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Chicago Heights at 1000 E Lincoln Hwy. The company is offering several hiring incentives, including up to $8,000 in bonuses and offers being made on the spot, according to the release. "We're currently hiring 60+ for positions including technicians, shop managers, truck drivers and dockworkers for our new, state-of-the-art 264-door service center and shop in the Chicago Heights area," said Tara Mullins, Director of Public Relations. "The 141,000+ SF site is expected to begin operations in fall 2021 and is expected to help improve the flow of freight through the Chicagoland region and better serve our customers."
